I just finished my group chat at Tappped in. It was a great experience because they all seemed to focus on me. I commented on teaching for motivation and got wonderful ideas of teaching things that interest the students like banking, getting an apartment, budgeting, and stock market. I also got some great websites from all the other teachers. I was surprised to find out that one was from Australia. I also met David Weksler who is teaching educational technology. When I told him I was working on my masters in that, he said good luck; I wonder what he meant by that.
Anyways, it was a big difference from chatting in this class. I was able to do the dishes and pick up the kitchen from after supper in between each message. They either type slow or don’t have much to say. I think it is was a little of both, but it was a very informative session anyways. The best part is that all the websites they gave me will be in my email account by tomorrow. I think that is wonderful. This is the best community because everyone has ideas and is willing to help each other out. There was another teacher there that had been teaching 33 years. I hope that I am still willing to learn new things after 33 years of teaching.
I have to admit I was a little “skeptical” about going into the group and wouldn’t have probably done it if it wasn’t an assignment. I am very glad I went and even have a date for another group meeting on Tuesday the 18th.
