Since everyone is reading the same book, I won’t go through what it is in it. I do want to say that I loved this chapter and think that this is the key to our success as teachers in the 21st century. I think we need to develop professional social networks to turn to for ideas and help when we need it. We also need content intensive technology PD’s that show us what is available and how to incorporate it into our classrooms. If you are like me, you need someone to show you examples of what they have done so you can tweak it a little and use it. I think that a PD with nothing more than many educators of the same subject, talking in one room, would most beneficial.

Wouldn’t the TappedIn website be considered a professional social network? It may not have the same appearance or interface as Facebook, but it does have other teachers engaging in professional development and sharing ideas.

Yep,I think you are right Nancy. It is professional social network. Now, if we could just get more people to use it.
